You and I probably both know someone who has felt the incredible financial burden of adoption. It can seem like an insurmountable task to raise the amount of funds necessary to adopt. Fortunately, there is some good assistance out there in adoption land. Many organizations have stepped up to help make that burden a little lighter, encouraging more families to take that beautiful step toward adoption.

So I want to highlight a few organizations in this blog to hopefully help someone out there today.

Let’s start with Laura Valentine ministries. They contacted me recently to let me know about this sweepstakes. They are giving away up to $5,000 towards an adoption for Valentine’s Day this year. That sure would help! You can find out more information on their website here.

sweepstakes-val-banner-lgHere are three more organizations who have an enormous amount of experience and expertise when it comes to fundraising and grants for adoption. Feel free to peruse their websites to glean even more valuable information than just the little bit that I clipped together below.

1. Show Hope – Show Hope provides grants to families in the adoption process so that more children can have loving homes. All applicants are welcome, but due to limited funding, we cannot award grants to all qualified applicants. Show Hope has helped 4500 children in 53 countries find forever families.

2. ABBA Fund – A new initiative in our portfolio of programs is the Christian Family Adoption Grant Fund that allows families to activate their communities of friends and family to give into a charitable fund to help reduce the financial burden of their adoption by providing the key services to help transform an orphan into a son or daughter.

3. Lifesong for Orphans – Adoption is our ultimate goal in caring for orphan children as it enables them to become a part of God’s perfect plan…a family. While many Christian families have the desire and resources to care for a child, initial costs keep many from following God’s call to adopt. Adoption grants and loans, matching grants, interest-free loans, and fund your adoption/serve a widow are offered through this ministry.

These are just a few of the trusted organizations that can help you (or someone you know) through the process of adoption. Obviously, there are many more. But I wanted to at least let you know about the ones that I am familiar with and who are highly accountable and have a great track record.

Let’s not forget the Adoption Tax Credit. Read more about the benefits here.

One more VERY important opportunity is coming up!

There is an upcoming Webinar from the Christian Alliance for Orphans on January 28th called, “You Can Adopt Without Debt: Creative Ways to Cover the Costs of Adoption“. You must register here if you want to attend.

Hopefully, you and others will find this short list helpful in pursuit of bringing a forever family to a very special child, or two, or three or four….

For the sake of church and child,
